The Last Great Frontier

My momma and I just took a cruise to Alaska - Seattle, Juneau,
Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, Victoria, Seattle
Mom lounging on the cruise as we departed Seattle
Mt. Ranier was in all her glory as we left
Our ride, Golden Princess

Gardens in Juneau, the guy who owns them was mad one day when he damaged his $250,000 tractor, so he slammed
the tree that he uprooted into the ground with the loader and it sunk 8" into the ground and stood there.  He planted flowers in the top and there you have it, instant tour attraction.

Went humpback whale watching in Juneau, spectacular!

Pornographic Totem Pole in Juneau

Mt. Roberts Tramway in Juneau, 4 cruise ships

Red Dog Saloon in Juneau

Brothel in Skagway (used to be anyway)

Train in Skagway that we went on

Glacier Bay

Big Ass Grizzly on the shore.  It was pretty amazing how the captain maneuvered the massive ship so we could get relatively close.  Amazing driving!

This is one of the four pools on board and during some pretty rough seas, I sought refuge in the pool.  The waves were about 2 feet high.

Ketchikan Alaska, Creek Street

Mom and I went on a float plane trip out of Ketchikan to Misty Fjord National Park

The pilot let us stand on the pontoons in the middle of the fjord!

Our dinner group.  They were from Scotland (can you guess which one), California and Texas.  Awesome group, really fun and I think we were the loudest ones in the dining room when it came to laughing.

When we arrived in Victoria, the Kanooks had just won a game, crazy!

Victoria, BC

The Empress Hotel.  My mom and dad were here about 10 years ago and she was so impressed this time with what the city had to offer.

This was just funny to me.  The crew was gathered around the free wi-fi in Victoria on their laptops, talking to family back home.

Thar she is.  I was super impressed with the fact that we traveled to so many places on this boat.  It was great to see how the crew all got along really well and seemed to be treated very good.  The "melting pot" of the world was on that boat, people from India, Japan, China, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, Mexico.  It was amazing.  My mom also did really really well in the casino, so I know she had a really fun time.  Checked that one off my bucket list!
