Lower Rock Creek with Dougy & Dutch on Mommy's Day

Woke up this morning and said to myself..."I'm going to call my friend Doug!" And this is what happened....

Dutch on the trail in front of some Indian Paintbrush

Dougy and myself on the 3rd section of Lower Rock Creek

Lot's o' water and Dutch was in heaven!

Doug and Dutch on the trail - about 70F degrees and sunny

Post Creek Dip - Dutch's favorite routine...

Happy "yellow" lab

Ahhhh, this is the life!

Not sure the name of it, but Doug thought it was a type of Sage

Very cool Rock formation

More sage

Not such a lucky car (very old one too), the road above is about 200 feet up, woops!

Sweet tree downed over the creek

Mt. Tom peering out in the background amongst some looming clouds

Very cool closed down restaurant that is built over the river. Hopefully it will be reopened in the future.

After our hike (about 6 miles or so), we decided to go to a Thai Restaurant called "Thai Thai" in Bishop at the airport. It was pretty cool because when we went inside at 2pm, it was pretty crowded and the owner was freaking out because he had already sent his dishwasher home. The cooks in the back were traumatized as to what was going on. His response was...Late Mother's Day Rush. It was funny because he sat down at every table to take their order, pretty homey. We also watched a plane land in a super gnarly windstorm, dust blowing everywhere, as soon as he landed, everyone in the restaurant clapped. They unloaded the plane right in front of us and they had skis, boots, ice axes and a whole bunch of mountaineering gear...diehards!

When we were on our way back to Mammoth, we couldn't believe our eyes, totally socked in and snowing hard. We saw all of these guys riding their motorcycles on the way home, or we hope they were on their way home. Great day! Happy Momma's Day!!
