Winter in May....

It is May something or rather, but you wouldn't know it! Still, we are making the most of it!!!
My friend Gilann and I (and her sweet puppy Oreo) decided to be spontaneous, drive up to Lee Vining, grab a monorito and then drive up Tioga Pass to take a walk. That is a wall of snow behind us! About 5' tall.

I thought maybe we would be parking near the bottom because there is still so much snow, but we got as far as the East entrance to Yosemite (11 miles up from 395). Check out how much snow there is! This time last year, you could hike everywhere around this area, we might not be hiking until August at this rate!

This is the placard explaining Tioga Pass Road

The view of Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass). You can see how it cuts in the middle of the mountain, kinda freaky.

Some of the overhangs on the road. Beautiful!

Tired little Oreo in the back of the car.
