Wildflower Extravaganza!!

Two days ago, I was following the advice of a friend of mine on facebook.
She was saying that the wildflowers in McGee Canyon were going off.
I had no intention of going as far as I did, but I wanted to get to the lake...
7.3 miles later...I was at the lake, but oh how incredible the flowers were along
the way.  All of the mosquito bites I got were well worth it, as well as the 7.3
miles back down the trail.  Enjoy the pics!

this bridge gets shifted every year by avalanches.  I have never seen it broken.  A friend of mine who was on trail crew when they put it in by helicopter was bummed to see that it was so damaged.

Remember this staircase for the picture below of the guy on horseback

This little marmot was such a ham for me!

Total Poser!

This guy had to be about 75+ years old.  He was all alone on this horse and about 6 miles into the hike.  He was going up some pretty gnarly terrain...note the picture above with the stone staircase...that is where this picture was taken!
