Two Posts In One!

So, in the past two days, I have been on two great hikes.  You get to go on both with me! The first one I went on was with my friend Kurt and his dog Tufa.  Convict Canyon behind Convict Lake

I had never seen this kind of flower before

Kurt put Pennyroyal flowers behind his ears, in front, in his shirt....

and on his dog...these flowers repel insects (not sure if they worked because we
applied insect repellent around the same time)

Couldn't go any further than this because the water was too high

Very talented

On Thursday, my friend Erica and I finally went on our hike together that we had been planning for the last two years...Waterwheel Falls.  I picked her up from camping at Saddlebag Lake.  This is the little restaurant by the lake...so rustic!

We kept seeing these little beaches, Erica couldn't resist posing (ha! After I asked her too) 

There were fields and fields of Lupin, absolutely gorgeous!!  I had never seen it like that.

A Waterwheel!  Huge water!

Erica and I took a shortcut someone told me about...we got lost on the way there, rescued by some people who knew what they were doing and even got a little lost on the way back.  I think I will stick to the normal trail.

This is what my feet looked like after 15 miles...not to mention the welts left from the many mosquito bites!  Great time both days!!
