Park City!

Two of my sister's and three of my niece's and nephew's at one time or another lived in Park City, UT.  Lisa spent 16 years there (so did Jaime & Courtney).  I haven't been back in 6 years, so I wanted to check it out, visit a good friend, and also, compare it to Mammoth Lakes...
McPolin Barn

Lisa hiking the first day after we arrived (lisa drove from san diego, I drove from mammoth - 9 hours for me, 13 for her)

Long time friend, Wendy, with Sage and Boomer

Classic Park City Trail

Old mining building at Park City Resort

Famous Mining Building, my sister Nancy used to take me hiking there and I remember a ghost story about a miner in a yellow slicker, is that right Nancy?

Lisa's son, GreySun spends the summers in Park City with his dad.  He grew about 1.5"

Sacked out!

One of the main reasons for this visit, Jimmy Cliff (age 62)

Lisa enjoying Jimmy Cliff

Some Antarctic folks, Rich and Tracy

Lisa with her Durango Circle neighbor, Trish, who just moved to Park City, two years ago.

Wendy and Bob - 18 years together

Michael Franti (aka - Wendy's wanna be boyfriend), GREAT performer!

He even got down in the audience and was walking around singing, at one point, he was in the back of the crowd saying that he wishes he was the type of person who got to concerts early and got good seats up front, but he is more like the people in the back.

Then it started to pour, super cool!!

Boomer and the cutest little 6 week old American Boxer

Main Street Park City

Michael, GreySun and Lisa by the No Name Saloon

There were a couple of these little patio settings, that jut into the street, super cute!

GreySun in Glenwood Cemetery (miner's), my sister Nancy took me here a looooong time ago.

Nancy don't be upset, but this is where you used to live, it blew me away also.

Young moose on Guardsman Pass

Wildflowers everywhere

The cute quaintness that makes Park City what it is...

GreySun and Herbie loved chasing the ball back and forth to each other.

On the way home...Bonneville Salt Flats...have you ever seen the movie, "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins?

And then...my ankles, well, my ankle is on the right, but my KANKLE is on the left.  I fell off my mountain bike the day before I left.  My tailbone hurts too, but I didn't want to take a picture of that.

Park City vs. Mammoth....I wish the town of Park City was in the Eastern Sierras, that would be the ultimate!!!

Your final assessment was dead on ~ thank you for sharing your travel log, it was great to visit Park City with you, now I don't need to go again for awhile. Have visited many mountain towns and I always snap back to Mammoth....like th feel, the people and culture. T

  2. Obviously you didn’t learn anything from your bike disaster that happened a few years ago…I thought you gave up bikes but apparently not..Oh well at least this time no huge bruises, just a big ankle…see you next weekend!

  3. As always, sista, I love your photo journal. It was a great week! Your pix proved it. If GreySun hadn't been working everyday, it would have been a perfect trip to meet up with the Bozeman famdamily in Yellowstone! I love all of the pix but the ones of Michael (aka, Wendy's other man) are very pure to the show. He is love incarnate. I hope to see him in San Diego and take Tom.
Love you and great to share this with you
