Ha! You all thought you were going to read something juicy...perverts. Nope, this is what I'm talking about...
Zanzibar is where I first found my love for...coffee and all that it entails when used socially, chatting with strangers who within two hours became some of the most interesting people I have ever met, people watching, and just very energetic positive energy that sometimes you can only find in coffee houses. I think the first time I entered Zanzibar in Pacific Beach, Ca. was in 1990? I was going to college at USD and stumbled upon this place and just immediately fell in love. I think I used my parents "college funds" at least four times a week. They should be happy that my addiction was only to mochas.
I was just down in San Diego visiting my friend Pam and I was early. I was thinking about going to a coffee place in Encinitas, but I wanted to be closer to her house, then the light bulb went off and almost singed my hair...Zanzibar. I sat down, sipped on my coffee, reminisced and then got a coffee to go for my friend Pam. Great memories. Thanks Zanzibar, for being the "first" in a long line of coffee house love affairs!
